Join us on February 6th, 2020 and experience the performance of world-renowned entertainer, Alejandra Robles, spoken word poetry with local youth, dance with traditional masks from Mexico and Afro-Mexican art & fashion.

art talk + workshop

Continuing with the Afro-Mexican celebration, we’re excited to host internationally acclaimed artist Tomas Pineda Matus at Mercado369!

Tomas Pineda was born in Chicapa de Castro, Juchitan, Oaxaca, Mexico in 1968. His work reflects the Afro-Mexican culture and traditions. His pieces have been exhibited in Spain, Cuba, Japan, California, and across Mexico. Meet Tomas Pineda Matus and learn about his life story on Saturday, February 8th at 11 a.m.

Get a unique hands-on experience in a workshop with Tomas! With his guidance, you will create a beautiful canvas featuring his technique using marble powder and acrylics. Seating is limited – tickets are $40, all materials provided. The workshop will begin at 2PM.

This art talk and workshop event will be accompanied by a delicious Afro-Mexican inspired brunch buffet by our Chef John at the Mercado369 cafe. Seating is limited. Purchase your ticket in advance to save your seat, only $15! Brunch will begin at 1PM.
